closed for the entire month of August. Regular hours resume in September.
askON is closed on regular holidays and when campus libraries are normally closed.
When the service is closed you can choose to email us or click on the askON logo to fill out a form.
** NC Libraries : Summer Hours **
The new summer hours for the NC Libraries are as follows:
June 28 to Aug. 27: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (no evenings)
*Closed: July 1, Canada Day & *Closed: Aug. 2, Civic Holiday
* Please Note: The Welland Campus Library will be closed to staff and students from Monday, June 21 through Friday, July 9. During this time Welland Campus Library staff will be located in the CEPD offices (S102). *

The Welland Campus Library will be closed to staff and students from Monday June 21 through Friday August 27, inclusive, as we undergo the transformation to the combined Library/Learning Commons and hub of the Welland Campus.
Apologies in advance for the inconvenience, but as we all know, it will be well worth it!
Staff and Service Available:
While the Library is closed, Library staff will be located within the CEPD offices (S102). You will still be able to reach WC Library staff at x7767 - we can help you with Internet/database searches, in-class instruction and can bring some materials from the NOTL Campus Library for your use. The virtual Reference service AskOn will still be available from the NC Libraries homepage, and of course all databases are available remotely, provided you have registered with us.
The Open Access Computer Lab (S109) is available to students during this time.
NOTL Campus Library will be open for business as usual. Please check the library website and blog for up-to-date info on service hours, availability: http://www.niagaracollege.ca/library/

Looking for some summer reading and viewing? Don’t forget that NC Libraries has a wide variety of materials for you to sign out.
All you need to borrow is your student/staff card and a visit to the Library’s Circulation Desk.
You can sign out books, videos, dvds, magazines, paperbacks and feature films and more!
Borrowing privileges vary whether you are a full-time student, faculty/staff member, alumni or community user.
In general, this is the scoop on the following materials:

Visit the NC Libraries Olympic Lounges, curl up on our comfy seating and watch your favorite sport, check the latest score or cheer on your favorite team. Enjoy the book displays, decorations, “predict the winners” contest and more! The Library is the place to be during the Olympic Games.

GROUP STUDY ROOMS
The Group Study Rooms are a perfect spot to gather with classmates to discuss course curriculum, organize group presentations or prepare for exams.
Did you know?:
Group study rooms are available at both the Welland Campus and the Niagara On The Lake Campus and can be booked up to a week in advance.
How:
Simply approach the circualtion desk and request the time you would like to book the study room (max 2 consecutive hrs per group) and we will do our best to accomodate. Each Study Room has a white board and white board markers which also can be signed out at the circualtion desk.

Wednesday October 28 : On Your Mark… Get Set….The Amazing LIBRARY Race!!

The Amazing LIBRARY Race
Enter your team of 2-4 students at the Library Circulation Desk today – space is limited!
How it works:
The Amazing Library Race will be taking place on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009. Students must come into the Library to start the Race between 11:00 and 1:00 on that day. The Race should take no longer than 1 hour for a team to complete.
Teams will be given their first envelope when they start the race. The contents of this envelope must be completed correctly and brought to the Library circulation desk before teams will receive their next envelope. There are three envelopes in total to be completed.
The team who completes The Amazing Library Race correctly in the shortest amount of time will win the grand prize!
(Prizes include generous donations from the WC and NOTL Bookstores, Aramark Food & Nutrition Services, and SAC. )
Rules:
Teams may not have Library employees help them with the Race. Teams should be able to find all of the information they need on the Library’s website or in the Library.
Teams may not hide items to make them difficult for other teams to find.
